Los Angeles International (LAX)
LAX has 9 terminals in a horseshoe layout. Terminals are NOT connected landside — you must take a shuttle or walk outside. The LAXit lot for Uber/Lyft is a shuttle ride away. Knowing your terminal and having a pre-booked driver eliminates LAX's notorious complexity.
Metro C Line (Green) to Aviation/LAX station, then free LAX shuttle bus. Metro to downtown: $1.75, 45-60 min total. Not ideal with luggage.
FlyAway bus to Union Station: $9.75, 30-50 min. Also serves Van Nuys and other destinations.
LAX is notorious for chaotic ground transport. The LAX-it ride pickup zone requires a shuttle. Taxis are metered and honest but the airport is confusing.
Welcome Pickups — Meet-and-greet avoids the LAX-it zone confusion. Fixed pricing for a stress-free arrival.

GetTransfer — Bids from $30 to Downtown or Hollywood. Often cheaper than Uber during surge.

Uber/Lyft work at LAX via the LAX-it pickup zone. You must take a shuttle to the zone — it's a 10-15 min process. Surge pricing is common during peak hours.
FlyAway bus ($9.75 to Union Station, 30-50 min) is the budget option. Metro C Line connects to the broader Metro system. LAX is getting a people mover (opening soon) to Metro K Line.
LAX is chaos: 9 terminals, construction everywhere, and the LAXit ride-share lot requires a shuttle bus ride. Having a pre-booked driver who meets you at your terminal is worth the premium. The alternative is navigating the congested ring road to the LAXit lot with your luggage.
Destination matters: LA is sprawling. Downtown is 25 km, Santa Monica 20 km, Hollywood 25 km, Beverly Hills 20 km, Anaheim (Disneyland) 55 km. Prices vary dramatically — confirm your exact destination when booking.
Rush hour is real: LA traffic is legendary. The 405 freeway (LAX to Westside/Valley) crawls during rush hours (7-10am, 3-7pm). Allow 90+ minutes for any destination during these times. Late night, the same drives take 25-40 minutes.

Tip 3: LA traffic is legendary. Budget 45-90 min to Hollywood or Downtown, more during rush hour (7-10am, 4-7pm).
Tip 4: For transfers to Disneyland (55 km), Palm Springs (170 km), or San Diego (190 km), pre-booking is practical.
